On stock Blazers, the lift glass handle will hit the carrier rack while the carrier is in the closed position. STA-KIT is a bolt on adapter kit that allows the rear lift glass to open past the tire without unlatching the spare tire carrier. Tire is lowered for increased rear visibility!

Blazers featuring rear view mirror with built in sensor (automatic day/night setting), will now be able to enjoy the auto dimming feature. Without the adapter, the tire blocks the light needed to control the built in sensor on the rear view mirror. ZR2 Blazers feature larger 31 inch tires and therefore block even more light than a standard P235 Blazer tire.

Lift glass access to the rear compartment will help eliminate wear and tear on the carrier bushings from repetitive opening/closing of the carrier.

Spare tire carrier can be returned to stock mounting position by unbolting kit (perfect for leased vehicles since there is no permanent modification).

License plate will not be obstructed when viewing from a seated position from a cars length away. The license plate can be lowered 1.25 inches on Blazers with step bumpers. Blazers without step bumpers do not need any additional license plate lowering. STA-KIT is shipped in the upper position to maintain maximum license plate visibility! Adapter can be adjusted for two drop settings by moving studs as per instructions.

If you are able to use household tools, you should have no problem installing this kit! Tools needed to mount STA-KIT are: lug wrench and 6mm metric or adjustable wrench. Full detailed instructions are included with kit.
